A fair place
for both of you.

Meet in the middle. By travel time.

Journey overview · a schematic, not directions

Your middle is a journey away.

Add your starting points and how you’re travelling. We’ll compare real journeys to find an area that works for both of you.

Meeting on the way home? Add where you’re heading afterwards.

Two journeys. One good place to meet.

Time, not a pin in the middle

We ask TfL for journeys to ten nearby area centres, then weigh up each person’s travel time and the difference between them. You can also compare the shortest total travel.

Bring your journey home

Add an onward destination to include travel after the meeting. You’ll see the extra travel compared with going straight there. Your meeting starts when both of you have arrived.

Make it a real plan

Open cafés, pubs, restaurants or parks near your chosen area in Google Maps. Check your final venue and directions there; the venue may be a walk from the area centre.

How we compare journeys and use location data

“Fair travel times” balances the average journey with the difference between you, plus a smaller penalty for extra onward travel. It avoids rewarding equally long journeys just because they’re equal. The result is the best of the ten areas checked, rather than every possible point in London.

Displayed times include initial waiting from your chosen departure. Extra travel compares the inbound and onward travel with a direct trip leaving at that original time. Time at the meeting and waiting for the other person are excluded; later services can change the comparison.

Your starts are sent to TfL for routing. Full postcodes are looked up through postcodes.io. Searches are kept briefly in server memory and are not saved to a database. Opening a Google Maps link shares that area or journey with Google. There are no accounts or analytics.

Routes are subject to TfL availability and a shared request limit. An unavailable route stays unavailable; we do not replace it with a distance-based estimate. This first version does not check step-free access, venue opening hours or bike parking.
